Experience the seasons changing Plan for the best early fall events in Truckee California by staying in the heart of Historic downtown Truckee at the Tahoe Star Hotel.
The Best of fall activities start in September officially the beginning of fall, and cooler weather, watching the leaves change colors and hearing the crunch under your feet on a morning walk with the freshly fallen leaves falling down from the trees. The weather is perfect for those last summer activities before snow falls, and the winter adventures begin.
Besides the variety of fall events and activities Truckee has to offer, I’d like to mention a few of our own personal favorite classical attractions that are a must see when visiting the North Lake Tahoe region.
The fist on that list being Donner Memorial State Park, located in the scenic Sierra Nevada Mountain Range. This park has over 8 miles of hiking with its most popular hike being a part of historic Emigrant Trail after experiencing all the wonderful sights and stories Donner Memorial State Park has to tell.
The Great thing about September is that it’s still warm enough to get some last-minute Paddle Boarding, kayaking or another lake activities in if you haven’t done so already. Donner Lake Is the perfect place for it all. Only a 10-minute drive from the Tahoe Star Hotel and the perfect place to grab one of the 40 public piers that Donner Lake has to offer and camp out for the day. You can always do a hike that leads to the water to warm up before jumping in!
